Description
Born in Central Europe, Magdalena Reinharez arrives in France at a young age. She takes her painting class with masters such as Fernand Léger and André Lothe. This experience allows her to sharpen her eye with compositions volumes and forms. She then developped these skills with painting, drawing and sculpture.
Magdalena Reinharez was an artist fascinated by movement. While staying in Granada she discovered tauromachia, a theme she used in her own way. She managed to express the animal’s inner energy as well as the elegance of the torero in a dramatic ballet. It’s all about the interpretation of her feelings. More than the animal itself, she uses its image which strikes out and suggests. Its modelling is very personnal. She dedicated her last years mostly to the sculpture. She died in 2012, aged 87 years. Since 1955 she presented her work in many art galleries.
