Description
This is a rare pair of andirons with bronze knobs that are presented here.
The base with notched arches rests on small spheres. It is decorated with scrolls, ending in stylized fleur-de-lis, characteristic of the 15th century.
It bears a faceted stem with a polygonal cross-section. The iron of the stem, very slender, is ringed at mid-height. It is topped by a smooth gilt bronze pommel.
