Description
This chair rests on a trapezoidal base. The two front legs are joined by a low spacer with a sinuous cut and a band placed under the seat.
The uprights of the backrest extend the hind legs and frame the backrest panel, decorated with thin marquetry threads forming scrolls and a bird.
The lower and upper parts are cut and carved with scrolls.
With nice proportion and fine choice of ornamentation, this chair is really characteristic of the Italian early sixteenth century.
